Fresh from their performance in Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Grand Forks Choral Society will be performing selections from Handel's sacred oratorio, Messiah. This amazing musical masterpiece was first performed in 1752 and is still considered one of the premiere orchestral and choral pieces today. This is one concert you do not want to miss! For more information on this amazing experience, please read this article from the Gazette.
GFCS would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to the local businesses, volunteers and our fabulous audiences for your support of the Grand Forks Choral Society - a community treasure for more than 25 years! In particular, we would like to thank everyone who helped us to get to New York City, at the invitation of Distinguished Concerts in New York.
We are an amateur choir based in the heart of the Kootenays, comprised of men, women & youth from Grand Forks, Christina Lake, and the surrounding area.
For the past 25 years, we have been dedicated to:
- performing multi-cultural music, and
- celebrating the challenges, joys & rewards of singing for pleasure.
We perform several concerts during the year; just before Christmas and also in the Spring. Performances often include appearances by special guests, and our singing workshops and performances bring the community together.
New members are always welcome!
